Oregon Team enjoys solid run in ELMS round 4 at Silverstone

Oregon Team can draw a positive balance for their trip to Silverstone, as the Italian squad lined-up for the fourth round of the 6-race 2018 European Le Mans Series. The event wasn’t expected to be among the easiest, but the team managed to complete a decent and solid run.

With Riccardo Ponzio and “Bronze” driver Clément Mateu facing their first experience at Silverstone, the trio, which also features Andrés Mendez, brought home a 14th place in the LMP3 class, capitalizing on two excellent pit-stops and a great performance gain throughout the whole weekend.

They put up a good pace aboard the team’s Norma M30 racecar, which proved extremely reliable and ran like clockwork for the whole weekend. Regarding the drivers, every single one of them managed to show consistent progress and improved the pace by more than 1.5 seconds compared to Friday’s practice.

We struggled less than I expected– said Jerry Canevisio, who leads Oregon Team together with Giorgio Testa – We knew that Silverstone was going to be one of the toughest events of the season, on a particularly challenging racetrack. Our  drivers definitely delivered a remarkable pace and completed some consistent stints.

The next round for the European Le Mans Series will be at Spa-Francorchamps, on September 22nd and 23rd. The track is expected to be relatively easier for the team as Ponzio, making his ELMS debut, already raced there.
