“Our championship starts from Zandvoort. We secured two important victories at the Paul Ricard, but must remain concentrated as the season is still long.“
Jerry Canevisio knows what’s what. Despite three weeks ago Kevin Gilardoni and Leonardo Pulcini dominated the French round taking the Pro lead of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, they know this weekend – 19/20 June – they need to push hard.
The main task is obviously to consolidate the class lead with the Italian/Swiss duo, who has a five-point margin over the local youngster Max Weering. Gilardoni has raced at Zandvoort in 2009, while Pulcini – who is racing his maiden season in the one-make series – doesn’t know it.
At the circuit far 27 kms from Amsterdam, the team headed by Canevisio and Giorgio Testa will also field another Huracán Super Trofeo Evo car for the Pro-Am crew Massimo Ciglia and young Spaniard Guillem Pujeu.
After taking a third position and a podium finish at the Monza opener, Ciglia and Pujeu have never missed to score points as they secured three more fifth positions that let them to lay fifth in the standings, 19 points shy of the lead with a total of 32 points up for grabs in each event.
Action at Zandvoort will start on Friday with the two 50-minute sessions from 11.30 and 15.40. Qualifying will commence on Saturday at 10.00. The first of two 50-minute races is scheduled at 16.00. Race 2 will start on Sunday at 11.50. As usual both races will be live streamed at the Lamborghini Squadra Corse socials.
