It has been an ever-improving year so far for the Oregon Team. The Italian squad will line up for the French round of the European Le Mans Series to mark the beginning of the second half of the 2017 season. The Oregon Team operation, led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa, will be back on-track at the Paul Ricard Circuit for the fourth out of six rounds of the series, the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, with their Norma M30 LMP3 racecar.
After bringing home an encouraging seventh place in class on the ups and downs of Red Bull Ring one month ago, all of that despite a series of unforeseen circumstances, the goal will be to stay among the front runners and keep up with the great job done so far.
The driver line-up will be the same as in the first half of the season and will consist of Italians Dario Capitanio and Davide Roda racing alongside Colombian Andrés Méndez, all three of them at their first experience in the ELMS series.
Nothing has changed compared to Red Bull Ring. “We expect a lot of heat in terms of the weather – said Canevisio – Also, we are on the home turf of the French teams so it will all be a little more challenging for us . Anyway, we keep confident”.
The weekend will kick-off on Friday morning with the Bronze test session featuring Roda, while practice 1 will start later in the afternoon. Practice 2 will be on Saturday morning, followed at 14:05 by Qualifying. The race is set to start on Sunday at noon, with live streaming coverage on the official website of the series, www.europeanlemansseries.com.
