The European Le Mans Series will be lining-up for its final round of the year this weekend at Circuito Do Algarve in Portugal. In the sixth round of the European Series, Oregon Team will continue to aim high in LMP3 and will sport a new line-up in their Norma M30 racecar.
Joining Italian Dario Capitanio and Colombian Andrés Mendez aboard the French-built car will be new Bronze driver Toni Forné. The Spaniard, who has raced in several categories including the Renault Sport Trophy on a R.S.01, replaced Davide Roda. The Italian was forced to sit off the event due to recurring pain to his wrist.
Despite the fact that this will be a brand-new track for the drivers and team, the operation led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa will line-up at Portimão with good vibes especially after the great result secured in the recent 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at the end of September. In Belgium, a perfect strategy and an error-free run enabled the team to seal a top-10 performance.
The result scored at Spa was a fair reward for the great job done throughout the year with a constant improvement in terms of performance.
The team is looking forward to concluding their first campaign in the European Le Mans Series on a high note. This weekend’s program will start with the Bronze Test on Friday, followed by a 90-minute practice session. The second practice will start on Saturday morning. Qualifying will be on later the same day, while the 4-hour race will start at 13:00 local time on Sunday, (14:00 Central European Time).
