Less than one month ahead of Misano opener, Oregon Team returns to Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe as the 2020 season resumes at Nürburgring this coming weekend.
At the German track the Cremosano-based squad aims to continue its positive campain with the Damiano Fioravanti and Lorenzo Bontempelli duo, who finished third in Pro-Am both the races in Italy and are third placed in their category, looking to overhaul the ten-point gap to the class leaders Karol Basz, Andrzej Lewandowski.
Making his Lamborghini’s one-make series debut, the 24-year-old Rome-based Fioravanti was immediately among the front-runners, pairing with an experienced racing driver like Bontempelli, who returns this year to the series after one season break.
Another challenge for Oregon Team is in the Pro class, where 21-year-old Frenchman Dorian Boccolacci and Italian-Swiss Kevin Gilardoni (born in ’92) made their Lamborghini Super Trofeo debut claiming a best fourth place at Misano. The duo now aim at least to a podium finish.
Extraordinarily both the weekend’s races – each one of 50 minutes and live streamed on Lamborghini Squadra Corse Facebook and YouTube channel – are scheduled for Saturday. The first one will start at 12:30 and Race 2 at 18:05. Free practice will kick-off the program on Friday, followed by the two 20-minute qualifying sessions at 15:25 and 15:55.
