Oregon Team announces Boccolacci/Gilardoni (Pro) and Bontempelli/Fioravanti (Pro-Am) for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2020

With almost one week to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe opener at Misano, 8th/9th August, Oregon Team has announced its drivers’ line-up for the 2020 season.

The squad led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa is set to make its official debut in the one-make championship fielding two Huracán Super Trofeo Evo cars. One of them for the Pro crew Dorian Boccolacci and Kevin Gilardoni, both making their first appearance in the series.

The 21-year-old Frenchman has a Formula 2 season under his belt after racing in the previous two years in the GP3 Series. Gilardoni, who was born in ’92, after a five-year experience in rally makes his return to the team with which he finished third in the 2013 Mégane Trophy following a brilliant 2012 when he became the Formula Renault 2.0 Italia champion.

Lorenzo Bontempelli, who returns to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe after one-year absence, will pair with young Rome-based Damiano Fioravanti in the Pro-Am category. The duo shared in 2019 the Oregon Team’s Norma LMP3 car in the European Le Mans Series. Both have experience in the GT cars. The 24-year-old Fioravanti raced with the single-seaters till 2017, when he entered the WS Formula V8 3.5, before moving the following year to the covered wheels and claiming a victory in the International GT Open at the Montmeló circuit, Spain, driving a Lamborghini.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe revised calendar will consist of five rounds. After Misano the series will head to Nürburgring (5 September), Barcelona (11 October), Spa-Francorchamps (24 October) and Le Castellet (15 November).
