OREGON TEAM FIELDS TWO CARS FOR THE GT OPEN SEASON OPENER

Following a winning start to the season at Paul Ricard in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, Oregon Team is back on track this weekend for the opening round of the International GT Open at the Algarve circuit. The team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa will be entering two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s for full-time program.

Now in its fourth season in the continental series, the Italian squad aims to uphold its reputation after claiming the Team title last year, repeating the success it first achieved in 2022, its debut season in the championship, when it also dominated the Drivers’ standings.

Sharing one of the cars from the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer will be newcomer Antoine Doquin and Artem Petrov. The latter returns for his second year in the GT Open, again with Oregon Team, while Doquin (a French driver born in 2004) brings a solid background from the GT World Challenge Europe and an LMP3 title in the Asian Le Mans Series.

In the team’s other Lamborghini, a brand-new pairing will make its debut: 24-year-old Polish driver Robin Rogalski will share driving duties with 22-year-old Romanian Filip Ugran, who arrives from single-seaters and has recent experience in prototypes.

Both lineups will compete in the Pro class, aiming to make a strong impression right from the start on the 4.684 km Portimão circuit, a particularly demanding and undulating track that will host the opening round of the 20th edition of the series, which was launched in 2006 by GT Sport.

The Portuguese weekend officially kicks off tomorrow, Friday, April 25, with two free practice sessions. The first 25-minute qualifying session will get underway on Saturday at 10:10 am, followed by Race 1 (70 minutes) at 2:45 pm local time. The second qualifying session is scheduled for Sunday starting at 9:00 am, with Race 2 (60 minutes) at 1:15 pm, again local time.

Both races will be streamed live on the championship’s official YouTube channel: @GTOPENseries.
