A fortnight later the Hockenheim round, where Oregon Team claimed its first International GT Open victory of the season with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 driven by Jordan Pepper and Alessio Deledda, the team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa returns to track at one of the most challenging circuits of the 2024 calendar.
Hosting this weekend (May 24-26) the third of the eight series’ events will be the 7.0km Belgian track of Spa-Francorchamps, where Oregon Team will field again a total of three cars, confirming the other Pro duos Rolf Ineichen–Leonardo Pulcini and Marzio Moretti–Artem Petrov.
The latter arrive at the Ardennes circuit aiming to put the Hockenheim round behind them, after achieving a best eight position at the Portimão opener.
Having consistently scored points so far, Ineichen and Pulcini are now chasing their first podium of the season that was denied to them in Germany after receiving a post-race one penalty for not respecting the minimum pit-stop time by less than a second, losing the second place. It was a different story for Deledda and Pepper, who achieved a victory and a fifth-place finish at Hockenheim, climbing up the standings to arrive at Spa sixth in the championship, just 13 points from the lead.
The Spa event will be unusual compared to the others, due to a format that includes only one race instead of two. A race that will cover a distance of 500 kilometers with a maximum duration of two hours and 40 minutes, starting on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
Friday will kick off with two free practice sessions. The first qualifying session, lasting half an hour, will start on Saturday at 11:05 AM, while the second will begin at 1:40 PM.
Both qualifying sessions and the race will be streamed live on the International GT Open YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/GTOPENseries.
