Oregon Team secures first GT Open victory of the season at Hockenheim with Pepper-Deledda (Lamborghini)

Oregon Team sealed at Hockenheim its first victory of the season as the German track hosted last weekend the second of eight International GT Open rounds. The team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa topped the first race with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 shared by Jordan Pepper and Alessio Deledda.

Factory Driver Pepper started from the second row of the grid to move up to third and, after an early safety car period, he gained the second place. Following the pit-stop, Deledda rejoined the track still second and, after another safety car made the move over the Anthony Bartone’s Mercedes and took the lead.

The other Oregon Team’s Lamborghini of Rolf Ineichen and Leonardo Pulcini ended second. However, a post-race five-second penalty for not respecting the minimum time handicap for less than one second, moved back them to fifth.

In the second race, with the ten-second penalty due to the race one victory, Deledda and Pepper grabbed a stunning fifth position and more points. Pulcini and Ineichen finished seventh.

It was not a positive weekend for Marzio Moretti and Artem Petrov, who shared the third Oregon Team’s Lamborghini recording a 12th in the opening race and 13th in the second.

In the same weekend Oregon Team entered three cars in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe round at Spa. Claiming a second place in a red-flagged race two, Pietro Perolini and Davide Roda (the latter involved in an incident in the first race) mantained the Am leadership.

Leonardo Caglioni and Enzo Geraci finished seventh in race one and tenth (9th of the Pro) in race two over 52 cars. Double retirement for Paul Levet and Laszlo Toth.
