Oregon Team hits the track at Imola this coming weekend, in the first out of six double Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe rounds.
After having clinched the Pro title last year with Kevin Gilardoni and Leonardo Pulcini, the squad headed by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa returns for the third consecutive season in the one-make series that sees the debut of the brand-new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 cars.
At Imola, Oregon Team will field three crews. One of these formed by young Italian racers Alessandro Tarabini and Filippo Berto, the latter at his very first experience in the championship, whilst Tarabini made only one appearance in 2021 last round at Misano. The duo aims at the glory in the Pro class.
In the Pro-Am Massimo Ciglia – who faces his second season in the Super Trofeo and won a race in the Am class last year in the World Finals at Misano – will be paired by 32-year-old Brit Lewis Williamson, who makes his debut in the series despite he already has a great experience in GT and single seaters.
The third crew will be formed by Enrico Bettera and Lorenzo Pegoraro. The latter added his name in the line-up at the last moment, after having raced last year in the Italian GT.
The two free practice sessions will start on Friday. Qualifying are scheduled on Sunday at 10.40 am, ahead of Race 1 at 4.05 pm. The second of two 50-minute races will commence on Sunday at 11.50 am, live streamed on Lamborghini Squadra Corse YouTube and Facebook channels.
