Following the announcement it will field two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evos in the International GT Open, Oregon Team unveils its drivers for a third consecutive season in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
One of three Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 cars will be shared by the Pro duo formed by Alessandro Tarabini and newcomer Filippo Berto, both class ’99. Tarabini has already took part in the last 2021 round at Misano under the Oregon Team banner showing a strong pace. The young Italian racer claimed the Clio Cup Italia Rookie title in the previous year and took a best second position at his home track in Monza, driving a car fielded by the team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa. Berto, who turned 23 on February, finished fourth the Clio Cup Europe and won the Challengers Group A last season.
In the Pro-Am class Massimo Ciglia is ready for his second year in the Super Trofeo after having claimed an Am victory at the 2021 World Finals. The Italian will pair this year with more experienced Lewis Williamson. The 32-year-old Brit makes his debut in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, despite he already has several seasons in the international GT and single-seaters under his belt.
Another newcomer is Enrico Bettera, who will drive solo aiming at the Am honour. The Italian makes his return to the same team with wich he entered the Mégane Trophy, before moving up to TCR Italy and Europe.
Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe will consist in six rounds, starting from Imola on 2/3 April. Next venue will be at the Paul Ricard (3/4 June) followed by Misano (2/3 July). On 30/31 July the series will head to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium as support series of the 24 Hours race. Montmeló/Barcelona will host the Super Trofeo on early October. The last round will be held at Portimão in Algarve on 3/4 November, in the same week of the 2022 World Finals.
