Oregon Team ends the Lamborghini Super Trofeo round at Spa with Championship lead

Oregon Team ended an almost perfect weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, taking the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe lead with Kevin Gilardoni.

The Italian/Swiss, who raced as a solo driver the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo he usually shares with Dorian Boccolacci – the Frenchman missed the Belgian round due to the clash with the 24 Hours commitment – continued its positive series claiming his third consecutive victory in Race 1.

Starting from 5th in the grid, Gilardoni recovered well to finish first, thanks to a perfect maneuver in the last laps.

Different things in Race 2, when Gilardoni started from the 8th position moving up soon to third. When pit-window opened a safety car intervention for the Emir Keserovic crash at the end of the Kemmel straight slowed the pack. Following the green light a huge incident before the Eau Rouge bend involved the Oregon Team driver, Jonathan Cecotto and Raul Guzman.

The race was red-flagged immediately with still 16 minutes to go. Kevin survived well the crash and was able to continue claiming the fourth position.

As cars had covered less than 75 per cent of the distance, the race assigned half of the points. The Italian/Swiss racer maintained the series lead with a 7.5-point margin over the second placed Dean Stoneman.

The team led by Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa will return to Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe on 14th/15th November for last seasonal round at the Paul Ricard.
